On 16 October, Okeanos Conecta – Student Community brought together new and returning students from the Horta Campus of the University of the Azores for an evening of games, food, karaoke and socialising.

Okeanos Conecta was created in response to the importance of promoting student integration, well-being and a stronger sense of belonging, particularly in a campus community where students come from different academic levels, backgrounds and countries. Through informal monthly gatherings, the project provides opportunities for students to meet, share experiences and build relationships beyond the classroom.

By encouraging interaction and helping reduce feelings of isolation, the initiative aims to contribute to a closer-knit, more engaged and inclusive university community.

Okeanos Conecta is an investment in people, connection and student life at the Horta Campus, helping make the University of the Azores a place where every student feels welcome and part of the community.

The initiative aims to promote student integration, well-being and a stronger sense of belonging through informal monthly gatherings, creating opportunities to share experiences and build connections across academic levels and backgrounds.

Funded by the University of the Azores (€1,200), Okeanos Conecta is committed to fostering a more connected, inclusive and supportive student community.
