Ontem partilhamos contigo a forte presença do OKEANOS na Conferência Anual da European Cetacean Society. Hoje, trazemos-te as restantes intervenções dos nossos investigadores e alunos:

A Mariana Silva apresentou um poster intitulado “Estimating energy expenditure of sperm whales” enquanto que a Myriam Lebon participou com um poster designado “Mesopelagic prey consumption by dolphins in the Azores”. O poster apresentado pela Miriam Romagosa tem o tema: "Estimates of ship collisions and fatalities of fin, blue, sei and sperm whales off the Azores".

Enquanto isso, a Mareike Romero e a Catarina Fonseca fizeram ambas uma apresentação com os temas “Sperm whale movements and habitat preferences in the Azores” e “Modeling the abundance of deep diving cetaceans in the Azores”, respetivamente.

O nosso investigador Sergi Pérez-Jorge interveio com uma comunicação intitulada “Non-local conditions drive baleen whale migration phenology at a key stopover site in the North Atlantic” e o Rui Prieto contribuiu com uma apresentação sobre “Head ramming in sperm whales demystified”.

Para finalizar esta grande participação, a Maria Beatriz Soares apresentou um poster intitulado “Coda repertoires and vocal clans of sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) in the Azores”, e o Fran Felix proferiu uma palestra com o tema “Shipping noise propagation modeling in offshore ocean areas using open source data”.

Terminamos com um enorme sentimento de satisfação pelo valioso contributo dos nossos estudantes e investigadores, neste que é um evento de grande importância para a comunidade científica e público em geral.
