Between 19–21 May, OKEANOS researchers attended the Marine Imaging Workshop in Gibraltar, a leading international conference bringing together scientists and engineers to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices in marine imaging.

Our colleague João Balsa presented a lightning talk and poster on the development of the Benthic Clicker annotation tool, Daphne Cuvelier shared research on the use of fluorescence as a detection and ecological assessment tool at deep-sea hydrothermal vents and David Price presented work exploring the use of photogrammetry for coastal limpet stock assessment.

It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, showcase ongoing research, and connect with the international marine imaging community.

PT Entre 19 e 21 de maio, investigadores do OKEANOS participaram no Marine Imaging Workshop em Gibraltar, uma conferência internacional de referência que reúne cientistas e engenheiros para partilhar conhecimento, experiência e boas práticas em imagem marinha.

O nosso colega João Balsa apresentou uma lightning talk e um poster sobre o desenvolvimento da ferramenta de anotação Benthic Clicker. Daphne Cuvelier apresentou investigação sobre o uso da fluorescência como ferramenta de deteção e avaliação ecológica em fontes hidrotermais de águas profundas, e David Price apresentou trabalho que explora o uso de fotogrametria para a avaliação de stocks de lapas em zonas costeiras.

Foi uma excelente oportunidade para trocar ideias, apresentar investigação em curso e estabelecer contactos com a comunidade internacional de imagem marinha.
