Miguel Machete participa na 104.ª reunião da IATTC e em side event sobre a pesca do atum

Miguel Machete, coordenador do Programa de Observação para as Pescas dos Açores (POPA), foi convidado a participar na 104.ª reunião da Comissão Interamericana do Atum Tropical (IATTC), que decorre em Lisboa.

No âmbito da reunião, participa também no side event “Across Two Oceans: The Portuguese Legacy in the Eastern Pacific Tuna Fishery”, que terá lugar amanhã, 3 de setembro, no Museu da Marinha, em Belém.

A iniciativa terá continuidade nos Açores, a 7 de setembro, onde Miguel Machete fará uma palestra sobre os desafios do POPA na monitorização da pescaria de atum com salto e vara.

Miguel Machete, Coordinator of the Azores Fisheries Observer Programme (POPA), is participating as a guest at the 104th meeting of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC), taking place in Lisbon.

As part of the meeting, he will also participate in the side event “Across Two Oceans: The Portuguese Legacy in the Eastern Pacific Tuna Fishery”, taking place tomorrow, 3 September, at the Navy Museum in Belém, Lisbon.

The initiative will continue in the Azores on 7 September, where Miguel Machete will give a presentation on the challenges faced by POPA in monitoring the pole-and-line tuna fishery.
